2007 Ricochet Cellars Syrah
Our 2007 Amethyst combines two of our most flavorful wines, the Chapman Vineyard Syrah (66%) and the Guarino Vineyard Petite Sirah (34%). This combination produced a wine that is greater than the sum of its individual components. The Syrah's full fruit-forward expression is actually improved by the addition of the massive black fruits and tannins in our Petite Sirah. If the 2006 Amethyst was a rockstar, the 2007 got hair extensions and a nose ring.

2007 Ricochet Cellars Petite Sirah
By far, the biggest wine we've produced to date. The spicy black fruits (blackberry, boysenberry) in this full-bodied 100% Napa Petite Sirah from Calistoga coat the mouth in lovely purple goodness. The concentration of this wine provide an amazing expression of this varietal with a long finsh that lasts for days. The 2007 Indigo mimics the youthful, tannic wine we made in 2006, but offers a more 'drinkable now' version that should be enjoyed with no less than Christmas dinner, if not by itself for dessert.

2007 Ricochet Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon
This CA red wine contains 80% Mt. Veeder clone 337 Cabernet and 20% Calistoga Merlot. 24 months in new and neutral French Oak give this wine lovely character and complexity that reflects the mountain vineyards where it was grown. Cavedale Vineyards sits just above 2000 feet on Mt. Veeder on a hillside covered in mountain sage, which one can detect on the nose, along with hints of anise and dill. This rich, concentrated Cab is complemented by our lush Guarino Napa Merlot. The combination is reminicient of a solid young Bordeaux blend.
